CUNNINGHAM PARK

Time: Sunday, May 2, 10:00 - 11:30am, FREE!
Location: Meet at the North Woods trail at 210th St and 67th Ave
Guide: Eric Morgan, Torrey Botanical Society (ecmorgan3@yahoo.com)

Description: A walk through one of the most undisturbed natural areas in the city with a mature growth of red and black oaks, tulip and hickory trees and flowering dogwoods.  In the spring, the forest floor is filled with a large variety of native wildflowers and ferns.  We may even see wood anemone (Anemone quinquefolia) and doll's eyes (Actaea pachypoda).  These wildflowers are rare in the city and indicative of the rich herbaceous community that resides in Cunningham Park.
